With today's release of Britney Spears new album, Femme Fatale, we're looking back in time at the artists who would sing and dance their way into becoming household names. From Diana Ross to Lady Gaga, these acts had that X-factor that set standards for all of their contemporaries. It can mean talent, shock value, personality, a cult following, and more. Yet, that X-factor doesn't necessarily mean attractiveness. Only a lucky few can be regarded as the hottest artists throughout time. Sure, appeal is relative, but there have been those women whom teenage boys and even grown men feel no shame about posting on their wall (Facebook or actual room). Today, we're counting down the undeniably hottest women throughout pop music history.

This is horrid. Katy Perry? Ashanti? Christina Milian? Even Lady Gaga and JoJo are way hotter then ones on this list. If you're judging on "Hottest Pop Stars" y'all did a TERRIBLE job.

In what world is Miley Cyrus even attractive, much less hot? And Ashanti, Katy Perry, and Aaliyah aren't anywhere near here? Really?

Love the losers that can't appreciate anything that's not happening right now. Katy Perry has great boobs but that's it. Her face is horrendous. Who is "Ashanti" and "Christina Milian"? I hope to be there in twenty years when these hip and happening tools are being disrespected by a newer crop of thinktheyknowitalls.

Excuse me? I love me some Ashanti! Do not diss! And if you are trying to make a point about the nature of pop culture, why you talking about Katy Perry's FACE? And her BOOBS? You just as shallow as anyone else!
