Twitter’s good for staying up on Justin Bieber news, pouring out random emo thoughts, and knowing what airport such and such DJ is in. Add bagging Hugh Hefner’s fallout to the list. Because that’s what Jack Barakat, lead guitarist for pop punk band All Time Low did when he scored former Girls Next Door star Holly Madison.
Holly (who must have a thing for guitarists, because she dated Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden from December 2009 to January 2010), spoke to E!’s Cristina Gibson about how she and Barakat connected over 140 characters.
"We met through a mutual friend and then somehow somebody retweeted something funny he said on Twitter," she said. "So I started following him, and then we started Tweeting each other back and forth.”
And when everything was said and done, it was the trusty DM that sealed the deal.
"So then we started direct messaging each other and then exchanged numbers," Madison continued.. "We were texting for months, and finally when I had my vacation, I was like, 'Do you wanna come out hang out with me?' and he did and we hit it off right away."
We’ll get a chance to see just how well their twitter romance holds up in the sort of real world when Barakat makes an appearance on the first episode of “Holly’s World” season 2, which airs this Sunday night at 10:30 on E!
