FILM: Pi (1998)
Ivy League-educated Samia Shoiab stars as Devi, the literal girl-next-door and love interest of Max Cohen, a paranoid and socially inept number theorist driven to madness by the connections to nature he recognizes through numbers. Max is able to gather everything from stock market predictions through code apparently sent by God for the creation of the Torah. Thus, Devi serves as the only real point of social interaction Max has, outside another mathematician. She's also the only grounded, graspable part of this hyper-thinking-man's film.
