Folky and heartbroken with a little edge (and yet still really girly), Liz Phair was the walk on the wild side that never strayed too far from the cashmere blanket back home. Of course you wouldn't know that. She made indie rock with pop sensibility, popped up in videos featuring an alarming amount of artificial wind, and sang about wanting to be your blow job queen. All of which raises the important questions: Does she keep a fan next to the bed? And who's the heir to the thrown?
