Today marks the anniversary of Mexico's ratification of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which ended the Mexican-American War and ceded Nevada, among other states, to the United States (holla at your Complex history lesson). What this really means is that without this event back in 1848, our walks of shame down the Las Vegas Strip in the wee hours of the morning might never have occurred. Thus, we would've been completely robbed of our young adult lives. Not to mention, the Bellagio fountain dances are kinda nice.

But more importantly, we wouldn't have been blessed by Nevada's amazing home-grown women. It's already difficult to imagine nights life without Jenna Jameson.
