On the hit TV series Dawson's Creek, Holmes played Joey Potter, the all-American, around-the-way girl who any guy would feel confident about bringing home to meet mom. So at least she knows how to act normal. Plus, after six seasons of completely unrealistic dialogue in which teenagers spoke with the vocabularies of tenured Princeton professors, she is indubitably sesquipedalian.
