Prepare to be enlightened.

According to the New York Post, students at the city's most prestigious upper crust private schools get just as wasted as their less-privileged counterparts. The Post had to dig to learn this? Someone has to have read, or at least seen Less Than Zero and Twelve, right?

Apparently, students at schools such as Horace Mann, Trinity, Dalton and Riverdale throw parties at nightclubs and lofts and turn thousand dollar profits by charging $20 to $40 for party. Because rich kids throwing parties is a new phenomenon.

Students turned snitches revealed to Horace Mann's school paper that, in true Bret Easton Ellis fashion, teens get so wasted at the gathering that they've had to be rushed to the hospital. In the Oct. 25 feature, the Horace Mann Record reported that 75 percent of seniors and 50 percent of sophomores and juniors took shots before arriving at the liquor-free parties.

There's also apparently this thing called "awkward Mondays," which involves students having to face others that they may have tongued-down (or more) during the worst day of the week. So, to make a long story short, the Post is fascinated that adolescence is happening at these schools. Here's some more shocking news: it's not new and won't stop, either.
