Last night, two NYPD officers accidentally shot innocent bystanders while trying to shoot a man who pretended to point a weapon at them. According to authorities, 35-year-old Glenn Broadnax man was reportedly causing a scene near Times Square.

When police confronted him, he reached into his pocket and pulled his hand out, mimicking a gun. Both officers opened fire, striking a 35-year-old woman and a 54-year-old woman. According to commissioner Ray Kelly, the only thing in the man's pocket was a wallet.

The older woman, who requires the use of a walker, was taken to Bellevue Hospital after being shot in the lower right leg. The younger woman was taken to Roosevelt Hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound to the buttocks. Broadnax was eventually taken into custody and charged with obstructing governmental administration, riot, menacing, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
