Are you proud of your city? You should be, but will you still be as excited with the knowledge that cities are now at the greatest risk of disaster. Insurance company Swiss Re compiled a report about the climate challengies that cities face, and it revealed that several cities widely considered successful actually have the potential to be ravaged by disasters.

A total of 616 cities were examined, and Swiss Re looked at how river flood, earthquake, storm, storm surge anad tsunami could affect them. Flooding presents the biggest threat across the board, but Tokyo-Yokohama is the biggest city at risk of earthquake, while residents of the Pearl River Delta (composed of ShenzhenHong KongDongguan, Macau, and Guangzhouare at the greatest risk of storm, storm surge or river flood. 

Los Angeles, New York City and Mexico City are the North American cities with the most people at risk of being affected.
