25. Penn Social
Address: 801 E St. NW
At 13,000 square-feet, Penn Social D.C. is the giant adult playground of your childhood dreams. The two-floor venue has three bars and over 30 draft beers, but it's a multipurpose goldmine. From old school arcade games to skee ball, foosball and an assortment of board games (Connect 4 anyone?), there's never a shortage of things to do at Penn Social. It's stimulation overload for sports fans, as there's a 22-foot HD projector screen and at least seven more screens to ogle. With the NFL regular season creeping up, the bar will house zombies who will be glued to the many screens from kick off until the ref's final whistle, obsessively checking their laptops to monitor the status of their fantasy teams.
While Penn Social is good for the standard open mic nights, trivia battles and sweeping variety of parties, they host other events like sneaker competitions, record fairs and even pageants. In just over a year, it's established itself as a jack of all trades.
