Every year you will own less and less as you move from apartment to apartment. What was a treasured memento last year will be a prime candidate to be left on the side of the road the next. We recommend putting as many cherished keepsakes as you can in storage at your parents' place because you will be surprised at how hard it is to continue cherishing things when you have 24 hours to find and move into a new sublet before you're living on the street. Lugging that beautiful armoire your grandmother gave you from apartment to apartment gets old really quickly, especially when you have to choose between having it in your room and having space for your mattress.
