Who Knew the Washington Square Park "Free Hugs" Guy Was a Creep?

You'd better accept his hug—or else. Jermaine Himmelstein, better known as the "Free Hugs" guy from Washington Square Park, was arrested on Wednesday for hurling a can at a woman's face because she rebuked his gift of affection. This isn't the first time the 21-year-old Himmselstein has crossed the line, either. According to the NYU Secrets Facebook page, a woman said she gave him a hug one time and he eventually asked for "an adult hug." Awkward.

Aside from his Pepé Le Pew-like behavior, Himmelstein also reportedly had a habit of asking for donations. Well, more like pestering people for them. See? The pathway to hell really is paved with good intentions.
