New Yorkers Can't Stay Put

Census data shows that New Yorkers were on the move between 2006 and 2010. In fact, more people11,469 to be specificmoved from Brooklyn to New York City than anywhere else in the U.S. or anywhere else in the world. However, New Yorkers were still willing to make that cross-country move, as 3,251 people moved from Manhattan to Los Angeles

During the same time period, places like Queens, the Bronx, Brooklyn and L.A. all gained the most new residents courtesy of Manhattan. Also, while Queens gained new residents from both Brooklyn and Manhattan, it lost people to Staten Island, the Bronx and the suburbs.

Confused yet? If you want a real headache, try planning a move from Africa to Manhattan.
