Why They Might Change The World: Engages kids to participate in providing health, education, and basic needs to their peers
Organization Founded: Kids Change the World
When Kids Change the World founder Christopher Yao began his non-profit, his main goal was to encourage kids worldwide to start their own programs to help their communities. He knew that bringing together young people of diverse backgrounds would help alleviate the most pressing societal issues.
Kids Change the World has helped around 15,000 students become community leaders by providing start-up grants, online resource, and support. With several free programs run entirely by volunteers, Yao and his team have been able to maintain a 0% overhead.
Yao has been recognized nationally for over 500 hours of community service and was recognized by the Cooperation for National and Community Service.
