Where: Chiswick, England
Samuel Merritt Says: "London is said to be where porters were first made and sold. As we say, 'Porters drink porter in porterhouses!' Not as robust as a Smuttynose or a Sierra Nevada Porter, in that it has pretty restrained bitterness, but it's roasty throughout and gives nice notes of coffee, tobacco, smoke, and bitter chocolate. There's some caramel sweetness in this beer, and some nuttiness, as well. I find it delicious with a hot fudge sundae."
