6. Creative Takes on Nachos
Nachos are the pinnacle of delicious simplicity. Why then, do restaurants insist on reinventing this simple pleasure into a unique culinary masterpiece? Teriyaki nachos that use soy sauce in lieu of salsa, Asian nachos made with fried wontons, Irish nachos that substitute greasy potato chips for crispy tortillas. Our issue with these novel takes on the classic? They're not Mexican! If there is not a sloppy pile of sour cream, a blood clot inspiring mound of Chihuahua cheese, and a cascade of refried beans sliding down a mountain of tortilla chips, they're not nachos. And, we don't want anything to do with them.
