FEMA Administrator Says Hurricane Sandy Met His Grim Expectations

In and interview with CBS This MorningFederal Emergency Management Agency administrator Craig Fugate admitted that Hurricane Sandy met his grim expectations. Speaking to Charlie Rose and Norah O'Donnell, Fugate said "Unfortunately, it hasn't been the surprise, it's been what we were looking at." "You hoped it wasn't going to be this bad," he added. 

Fugate stressed that the East Coast is not in the clear, and advised residents in areas impacted by the storm to remain off roads if they are not in immediate areas of danger. Fugate also added that FEMA is working with President Obama and the governors of both New York and New Jersey to execute safety missions.
