South Carolina Mom Shames Son with Sign After He's Caught Smoking

Tough love via public embarrassment is sometime the only way to get through to your kid. After catching her 13-year-old son Brandon smoking weed, April Mathison of Beaumont, SC, forced the boy to saunter up and down the town's main intersection while wearing a sign that read "Smoked pot, got caught! Don't I look cool? Not!" and "Learn from me, don't do drugs."

Mathison chose this method of punishment because, as she explained, "Time outs and taking things away just doesn't work anymore." This sure worked on Brandon, who said, "I got to change my life and stop." Look at how ashamed he looks! Hopefully he doesn't turn to other drugs to pick himself up.
