Boston's Mayor Doesn't Want Chick-fil-A in His City

Should Boston Mayor Thomas Memino have his way, Chick-fil-A will not be touching down in his city. Appalled at the homophobic position held by the chain's president, Memino denounced the restaurant in the city:

"Chick-fil-A doesn’t belong in Boston. You can’t have a business in the city of Boston that discriminates against a population. We’re an open city, we’re a city that’s at the forefront of inclusion."

Chick-fil-A may have been considering setting up shop near the city's Freedom Trail, but Memino says there's no chance. “That’s the Freedom Trail. That’s where it all started right here. And we’re not going to have a company, Chick-fil-A or whatever the hell the name is, on our Freedom Trail.”

Memino says he plans to send a letter to the chain's Atlanta headquarters, and the city's Northeastern University dismissed talk of an on-campus location after reports that Chick-fil-A donated millions of dollars to anti-gay groups.

It's not going down at all.
