For years the Heart Corporation’s world headquarters (300 West 57 Street) was in the unfinished base of a proposed Art-Deco skyscraper. Originally commissioned by William Randolph Hearst himself, the stunning cast-stone façade comes from designer Joseph Urban. Unfortunately, because of the Great Depression, the tower was scrapped and the building was topped at the six-storey base. Until the 2000s, when everything changed.
