Back in 2003, Gandhi Lora was convicted for having child pornography on his computer. Today, the former Miami-Dade police officer lives as a free man in Fort Lauderdale and the Miami-Dade Police Department has shelled out over half a million dollars to him since his conviction. How the fuck does that happen?
Despite serving jail time and being forced to register as a sex offender, Lora takes home a clean $7,200 per month in pension money from the MDPD. Worse, he's one of several ex-cops who are raping the system despite being convicted of serious crimes.
The Herald-Tribune explained how these dudes are getting over, saying that Florida's pension laws are pretty much bulletproof, and you'll have an easier time getting your leg out of a bear trap than separating them from that money. This presents police with a dilemma: be a righteous human being and uphold what you protect and serve, or be a disgusting person and rack it up at the end of the day, even if you get caught.
If you're a scumbag, it's an easy decision.

If your a taxpaying law abiding citizen this article should encourage people to not just read it and forget it. One really has to ask themselves as they count their pennies and struggle to put a roof over their heads everyday what else have police Unions gifted themselves? Whats on the table we dont even know about? This is insane and a blaring example of "society gone wrong" . The public should collectively sue Lora and demand their monies back..another in your face example of a "cops gone wild sitcom" no wonder the general public's approval of cops is lower than that of Congress..Insane..
