L.A.'s Fire Department Gets out of Porn Business on a Technicality

Last month, the Los Angeles Fire Department was in the hot seat after allowing two of their trucks to be used in a couple of porn shoots, one of which featured adult actress Charlie Chase. Due to a technicality, they’re in the clear.

After City Councilman Dennis Zine requested an update on the LAFD’s investigation, Fire Chief Brian L. Cummings responded with a letter which stated that the alleged “acts of misconduct” were outside of the two-year statute of limitations indicated in the city charter. Apparently, the LAFD investigation revealed that the videos were taken in 2008. Crisis averted.

Zine says the Fire Department intends to leave the investigation open indefinitely, meaning it won’t have to reveal any details of its discovery. Zine also grumbled about changing the part of the city charter that basically saved the firefighters.

This is not the first time Zine was left looking clueless, and probably won’t be the last. Mike Hunt can attest to that.
