Crazy Video of Cops Clashing with Occupy Boston Protesters

The Boston Police Department tried to be proactive about this one, and it still didn’t matter. There’s no quick remedy for the Occupy Wall Street fever that’s hit the nation.

Early this morning, police got into an altercation with Occupy Boston demonstrators. Before the protest began, they tweeted Occupy Boston, acknowledging their right to protest peacefully and requesting their cooperation. Next, they handed out fliers asking demonstrators to leave the area peacefully when asked.

When a crowd of about 1,000 people amassed, police realized that the movement was real. Riot police showed up around 1:20 a.m., then came the sheriff vans and of course the paddy wagons. Soon enough, over 200 officers clad in riot gear circled the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway. When it was all said and done, the Boston Globe reports that about 100 protesters were arrested.

We doubt this incident will slow the pace of the movement.
