Amstel Wheat: A New Brew That Needs No Fruit

Amstel Wheat: A New Brew That Needs No Fruit

Look closely at the above image. Yes, you're looking at a pristine glass of Amstel Wheat, the new beer from the Dutch brewery. Notice anything? Imagine you were looking at an ad for something like, say, Blue Moon. Things would be pretty fruity. But Amstel Wheat is different.

Amstel's first new beer introduced to the U.S. market in a decade, Amstel Wheat is a low-calorie, 4.5% ABV, draft-only brew that won't compromise. It doesn't compromise its flavor or dignity by insisting on adding a wedge of citrus fruit, thereby not compromising your dignity.

It's fall, meaning all those summer lagers you downed with efficiency are no longer quite right. It's time for a beer that reflects the crispness of the nose-diving temperature and the fruity, floral flavors associated with holiday baking. Amstel Wheat is one such beer.

Incredibly easy to drink, Amstel Wheat has no discernible bitterness. The scent is slightly spicy and yeasty, something like fresh-baked bread but with an extra note of citrus. See, the beer provides the orange flavor; it needs no actual oranges.

Currently, there are 25 bars in New York serving this new offering. All of them are beer bars especially picked for their attention to detail. They know how to pour.
