The video above shows a group of would-be heroes appear to help an injured young man during the London riots, before shamelessly robbing him. That’s beyond kicking someone when they’re down.
After a third night of pandemonium, Parliament was recalled from recess to address the madness that has spread from London to Birmingham, Liverpool and Bristol. With roughly 500 arrests and 44 police officers injured so far, The Metropolitan Police Federation has criticized political leadership for their, well, lack thereof. Anticipating a fourth night of madness, Metro has confirmed that 16,000 officers will patrol London from midday until Wednesday morning.
This is probably more along the lines of what Joe Strummer envisioned when he penned “London Calling.” Not the Olympics.
