BREAKING: MTA Shuts Down Saturday At Noon

Cue the air raid sirens and prepare to tuck yourself into your house like a letter in an envelope: Tomorrow at noon the MTA will shut down public transit in NYC.

Details are still coming in about this situation. We'll keep you informed as more comes to light. But in the meantime we'd like to direct you to this cocktail recipe. You may be making a number of these this weekend.

UPDATE: According to the MTA's website, the shut down will be "incremental," though the language offering more specifics is incredibly vague:

"The MTA will begin an incremental suspension of its subway, bus, and rail Long Island Rail Road, and Metro-North Railroad service beginning approximately eight hours prior to sustained 39 mph winds reaching the area."

But when will we know we're eight hours prior to sustained 39 mph winds reaching the area?
