The island of Grenada doesn’t get the kind respect that it deserves. It is a pretty bitchin island that has had some bad breaks in the past, ranging from natural disasters to Ronald Reagan. Whatever hardships there has been, however, the island known as The Spice Isle has prevailed and is home to a sweat getaway called the Spice Island Beach Resort, which is located in the island’s capitol, St George’s.

Unlike most of the corporate resorts out there, the Spice Island Beach Resort is family-owned, which means better, more intimate service (it also means that only a grandpa or someone like that will be jerking you rather than a group of suits, but we digress.) The resort is located on the Grand Anse Beach and contains all the cool beach activities you could handle, from Hobie Cat sailing, to kayaking, to snorkeling. When not beaching, you could make time to chill in any of the pools, or the spa, or hit up the Oliver's Restaurant for a night of local live music. And, if you have kids, you could do all of this guilt-free by dropping them off at the playroom, where they could make necklaces out of coffee beans, or whatever.

As for price, it’s all pretty reasonable with you being able to get a room on the cheap for about $750 beans a night, with a room with your own personal pool costing you another $200 bucks or so. (Plus, the best part: One American dollar is like three dollars out there. So you could bring a couple of stacks, travel around the island, and live like a freakin king, we tell you. A KING!)
