Exhibit See: "Dust Jackets for the Niggerati- and Supporting Dissertations" Opens in NYC Thursday (4/21)

Kara Walker creates graphite drawings and hand-printed texts that explore the effects of migration during the 20th century on the African-American identity. Walker is known for dealing with the concepts of race, gender, sexuality, and violence. Here she again negotiates these themes, along with the use of power in interpersonal and geopolitical spheres.
