Chili Cook-Offs are a staple of many major American cities, but few reach the grandiose heights of DC's spectacle, brought to you by DC101, the area's leading rock radio station. Lasting over 8 hours, the 2011 Chili Cook-Off boasts a line-up of 7 bands and dozens of cooks competing for top prize. And to win, they need you to eat. Stuff your guts with hot stuff while Weezer, Seether, Papa Roach, and more decimate speakers and eardrums all over RFK Stadium Grounds on May 21.
The event benefits the National Kidney Foundation (might be a stretch, but does this have something to do with kidney beans being an ingredient in many chilis?). For complete info, including a full list of bands and ticket price breakdowns, please consult the Cook-Off's website. Tickets go on sale Friday, April 8 at 10 a.m.
