Comics Disney x Marvel: 5 Movies They Should Make Next

marveldisney
Sure, it’s old news by now, but Disney’s announced purchase of Marvel and all its characters has revved up the Internet’s creativity machine, with comic-book fans and Disney-loving pedophiles alike firing up the imaging software to imagine their favorite mashups. The thing is, no one’s as good at it as we are (suck it, Conan!) Besides, no one cares about Disney characters, and the House That Walt Built knows that it’s gonna need a lot more than Mickneto to get its movie mojo back. That’s why we went ahead and planned out Disney’s next few tentpole releases (ayo!), starring the only sure-fire moneymakers in Hollywood…

Movies 7 Half-Amazing Movie Man-Beasts

beasts_wolverine
Wolverine reps hard for the woodland creatures.

Internet leaks might cripple your average movie star, but Wolverine has regenerative properties and an indestructible metal adamantium skeleton. With that in mind, Complex fully expects Hugh Jackman and X-Men Origins: Wolverine to run the box office this weekend (unless, of course, you and your boys are gonna leave your nuts in the jars on your girls’ dressers and go see Ghosts of Girlfriends Past). That’s just how our mutant hero does—he beasts.

Now, despite his name and all that talk of unleashing the animal inside, dude is technically not an actual fusion of man and wolverine. In fact, “Wolverine” is just a code name that the Canadian government gave to their operative because, well, they have wolverines up north and he’s kinda vicious like they are. Sadly, that means he has all that facial hair just because he’s a dirty Canadian hipster. Anyway, Wolverine got us thinking about the best man-beasts in movies (yes, we went bestial). Peep our picks and let it roar if we left your favorite off. Sorry, but man-women don’t count…

Style Wolverine Boots Are Recession-Proof

wolvlead.jpg
Shopping these days is a pipe dream, but there are certain necessaries you need to have. It’s about to get brick-ass cold, so if you don’t already have a solid pair of boots, consider yourself effed. Or, consider Wolverine footwear.

Wolverine gear is made for real workers, so you know it’s going to last. Timberlands are a sure thing, of course, but if you’re trying to look a little different and need something to go with all those flannels you bought last year, check out the company’s site. Wolverine is legit, has been making boots for over 120 years, and if you don’t like the way they feel, you can take them on their 30-day comfort guarantee. See our picks from the collection below…

TV Wolverine Leads The X-Men Back Into Animation

wolverinexmentoon_main.jpg
Back in the mid-'90s, the Fox’s original X-Men cartoon dominated Saturday mornings. Now, after three blockbuster live action movies and an animated series about the mutants as teenagers (X-Men: Evolution), it looks like the entire franchise is shifting its focus towards Wolverine. The X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie comes out next May, the first issue of the Old Man Logan comic just dropped, and now Nickelodeon is preparing their new series Wolverine And The X-Men.

While the show won’t debut until next Spring, Marvel announced that they will be debuting the pilot at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Watch two new trailers for the series below.

Comics Wolverine Becomes Old Man Logan

wolverineoldman_main.jpg
What happens to our favorite superheroes when they get old and grey? Some comics, like The Dark Knight Returns and Spider-Man: Reign have addressed this question directly, but most probably don’t want to give away the fate of their hero so easily. Fresh off the Civil War series, writer Mark Millar and artist Steve McNiven are going deeper into X-Men icon Wolverine’s story with the new release Old Man Logan.

The 8 issue story arc is set 50 years in the future, when the villains have taken over the world, and Wolverine is just a dusty old farmer in Sacramento named Logan. The first issue drops next Wednesday (June 11), and Newsarama just leaked a seven page preview. Get a taste of Old Man Logan after the jump.
