PistolCam Watches Who You Shoot

pistolcam_main.jpg
In today’s post-Sean Bell society, somebody needs to keep a close eye on where these trigger-happy officers are firing. Some New York cops seem to have recently found a solution in the PistolCam, a gadget that records video of your gun’s point of view.

With one of these bad boys mounted on the barrel, we’ll have clear evidence of what really happened in those controversial few moments when the bullets start flying. The camera, which can record up to an hour of MPEG4 audio and video, is automatically turned on when the gun is removed from its holster. The company claims that video documentation exonerates police officers in 93% of cases where they’re accused of brutality. Now we just have to keep an eye on that remaining 7% to make sure they don’t “lose” the tape. Watch some PistolCam footage after the jump.

U.S Soldiers Tote High Powered Paintball Guns

paintball-gun.jpgUS armed forces are shelving the pepper spray for a crowd-controlling weapon with some serious balls to it—this FN303 Paintball gun. Also known as the Individual Serviceman Non-Lethal System (ISNLS), the gun carries a 6.5-gram projectile that fires bullets with a mixture of paint and the metal bismuth.

According to the creators of the welt-producing firearm, “the shock and pain caused by the impact instantly stop and neutralize the suspect.” Ouch. To get a watered-down version of the guts of the FN303, check the instructional video after the jump.

Wrist-Mounted Flamethrower Straight Outta X-Men

pyroflamethrower_main.jpgIt’s a common misconception that X-Men villain Pyro can actually shoot fire out of his hands. In reality, he has to wear a suit with a built-in flamethrower, because his only superpower is the ability to control the intensity of the flame. Hoping to re-create Pyro’s fire-spewing abilities, mechanical engineer Everett Bradford has created The Pyro System. The 20 year old senior at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute created this wrist-mounted flamethrower for his final project. In a series of videos, Bradford demonstrates his invention and breaks down exactly how it was made. Flame on after the jump.

Belvedere’s Jagger Ice Dagger Kinda Scares Us

icepick_belvedere.jpgEver since we saw Basic Instinct, the sight of a beautiful woman wielding an icepick has struck fear (and arousal) into our hearts (and pants).

Hoping to capitalize on the hand-cracked ice trend (ice trays are for peasants), Belvedere Vodka has teamed with designer/Rolling Stones spawn Jade Jagger to create the “Jagger Ice Dagger.” This $250,000 piece, which is dipped in everything from white gold to diamonds to sapphires, is available at jiggy international retailers like Harrod’s in London. A $10,000 version will also be available for those of us less inclined to take out a third mortgage on the house.

Check out Belvy’s latest ad campaign “Luxury Reborn,” featuring Terry Richardson, Vincent Gallo and RZA, after the jump…
