If this game turns out to be half as good as this trailer makes it seem (it will) then we won’t feel the least bit bad about ignoring work obligations and not returning calls from the girlfriend. We’re not cool with the idea of real military attacks on our home soil, but we’ll be damned if letting off rounds in an under-attack Washington D.C. doesn’t look like the funnest thing ever and we’re sure that millions of gamers agree. We suggest taking the next month to get important things done and clear the schedule, because once this one drops, not much else is going to matter.

Knowing is half the battle. And if you don’t know who Rachel Nichols is, you will soon'she’s taking on the role of leading lady Scarlett in the forthcoming live-action movie adaptation of G.I. Joe. For the buxom red-head who’s most famous for her role on Alias, going from espionage to the military is a fitting transition.

According to G.I. Joe lore, Scarlett was Duke’s love interest, but didn’t have a heavy presence in the 1987 animated movie. We’ll see how things change in the Greatest American Hero’s world when the new movie drops in August 2009.
