In case you couldn’t tell, Complex loves music videos. Earlier this week, we dropped our comprehensive countdown of the 100 Best Music Videos of the 2000s (click here if you missed it), but something was still missing. What would music videos be without the so-called “video vixen,” the model/dancer/actresses who provide us with a little aspirational eye candy in our darkest hour?
The last decade has truly been the golden age for the music video model, from icons like Melyssa Ford to new favorites like Rosa Acosta. Even some of the world’s sexiest celebrities (ScarJo!) have made memorable video appearances, so we wanted to provide a comprehensive look back at all the ladies who have caught our eye on MTV, BET and YouTube over the last 10 years. Check out Complex’s 50 favorite music video models below…
50 Cent drops dimes on dudes! We don’t mean that the homie Curtis is snitching, of course, just that when he makes a music video, you know he’s gonna have one or more of the hottest chicks who go to work in lingerie in that b-i. Occasionally they even have talent beyond their twos! In his video for “Baby By Me,” the first single off his new album Before I Self-Destruct (which is in stores now), R&B diva Kelly Rowland makes it hot.
Joe Budden’s ex Tahiry Jose and 50’s onetime cougar piece Vivica A. Fox have also recently put a little body into his videos. If by “aggressive content,” 50 means “content that makes you wanna smash a chick aggressively,” it qualifies. Check out our list of 50’s other video girls whose content we’d love to explore.
What’s that you say? That we’ve been hitting you with a different mega-list ever week for the past nine weeks and you’ve had enough? Well, to that, we say: Tough. That’s right, we’ve showed you our Top 100 Sports Moments | Top 100 T-shirts | Top 100 Girls | Top 100 Albums | Top 100 Sneakers | Top 100 Movies | Top 100 Internet Videos | Top 100 Video Games | Top 100 TV Shows and most recently, the Top 100 Style Trends. We might be getting close, but we’re not done sifting through every conceivable facet of Complex culture and presenting them to you in completely subjective (but no less legitimate) order. And next up is that hallowed haven of all things comedic, thuggish, and surgically enhanced. No, not professional wrestling (though that’s not a bad idea)—music videos!
Sure, the record industry may not be what it once was, but that doesn’t mean that the past decade hasn’t seen hundreds, nay, thousands of videos that deserved consideration in our countdown. But we only had room for a cool hundred, and the coolest hundred we found. So set aside a couple of hours, make yourselves comfortable somewhere where people won’t judge you for your viewing habits, and vegetate your way through the greatest music videos of the 2000s…
At some point today you will look at hot, under dressed women somewhere online. Normally, we’d direct you to the GIRLS section of our website–actually, you should still check that out if you’re in search of sexy ladies–but this 2010 calendar photoshoot with video models Rosa Acosta and Tammy Torres is guaranteed to hold you down (or maybe not? pause) for the time being. These girls have no qualms about taking it all off and we love them for it. So what if your day just started. It’s never too early to fawn over topless model-types frolicking on the beach. Thank us later.
Tune in to Complex.com every morning at 8 AM for your daily “Wake N’ Watch” video.
Wow, it actually happened. After nearly an entire year of us wishing Sarah Palin would go away, she finally—and abruptly—resigned. In a classic political spin-control move, the Alaska governor tried to head off the inevitable deluge of coverage by holding a brief (but rambling) press conference on THE FRIDAY AFTERNOON BEFORE JULY 4TH WEEKEND. And at no point among the weird basketball analogies did she ever exactly say why she was leaving or what she’d be doing.
Which is where we come in. Sarah, we love you. We rooted for you in your classic rap battle against Joe Biden, we defended your honor in our Wifey-Trifey showdown—and now, we’re ready to be your career counselor. The world is your oyster, baby, now go out there and find the pearl…
