WHY WE COSIGN: Most up-and-coming brands like to advertise logos on their apparel, but UNIS designs its collection with a minimalistic concept in mind. “I wanted to make handsome clothes for guys that didn’t scream logos and graphics. Keeping it simple so it doesn’t overwhelm the person wearing them. Understated cool,” says founder and designer Eunice Lee.
Before Unis became its own shop, it started out as a collection sold at Barneys New York, Fred Segal Man, and Apartment Number 9. In addition to its own line, this Nolita shop carries the American casual and classic staple items you need for fall. Lee knows the cut and style for the modern dude. The NYC-based brand Unis is right up our alley: It produces simple, sophisticated city-minded clothing (manufactured blocks away from its no-frills downtown retail location) and it seems to attract a lot of cute Asian girls. Really, what more does one need in life? But seriously though, Unis is a low-key brand that you should start checking out for well-made, instantly wearable pieces.
Today’s Buy It Now is Unis' signature rugged military trouser, made of midrise cotton twill with a straight leg, relaxed fit and small pleats in front. Eunice Lee the design hands behind NYC-based UNIS offers clothing that's appropriate for when you're hitting up venues that are too cleaned-up for an UNDFTD tee, but too laid back for a three-piece suit.
