Jose Parla Opens ‘Adaptation/Translation’ Show

New York City may not look like the colorful graffiti version of the ’80s, but luckily we still have legends like EASE to remind us of the work that the old school put in. Despite being rasied in Miami, EASE a.k.a. JosÃ© ParlÃ¡ came up like most of today’s crossover stars from graf’s golden era (HAZE, REAS), bringing his signature overlapping calligraphy style from the streets to fine art galleries worldwide. Last week, he finally took his work overseas for his first London exhibit “Adaptation/Translation.”

On display through November 8 at Elms Lesters Painting Rooms, a British gallery known for featuring installations from KAWS, Futura, and STASH, “Adaptation/Translation” finds ParlÃ¡ using ruined walls as his canvas. The gallery is also commemorating the occasion by publishing 1,000 copies of a book that features ParlÃ¡’s work. See more images from the exhibit below…

Dizzee Rascal Hits The Club In “Dance Wiv Me”

After waiting a full year to release it in the U.S., Dizzee Rascal must be sick of his last album Maths + English. So what’s next? Well, after he donned a wig and imitated Simon Cowell in his last video “Flex,” we should have expected to see more of the British MC’s light-hearted side. His new video “Dance Wiv Me” just dropped, and he’s definitely having fun with it, spitting game to the ladies in his most club-friendly track to date. Is this the future of the Boy In Da Corner?

To help him out with the new sound, Dizzee’s joined by in-demand singer/producer Calvin Harris (Kylie Minogue, the Mitchell Brothers) and singer Chrome. The song will be released as a single in July on his own Dirtee Stank Recordings. Watch the video after the jump.

Since it’s based overseas, and only available in select boutiques stateside, the brand birthed by Fraser Moss and Jimmy Collins in 1995 is embracing the world of online shopping with their new Flash enabled website.
