It seems the older we get, the more we realize how the wisdom of Ms. Badu when she sang: “Pack light.” Literally. Since she didn’t give us a step-by-step on how do it, we’re stepping in to advise you on how to pack a wrinkle-free suitcase. Besides rolling and inserting your socks and underwear into your kicks, see below for some tips on folding your jacket and pants for travel…

HOW TO FOLD YOUR JACKET
1. Pop your collar. Fold the jacket sleeve in your shoulder.

2. Fold out edges to meet the middle.

3. Fold jacket in half at the center seams.

4. Fold jacket in half so the bottom meets the collar.

HOW TO FOLD YOUR TROUSERS

1. Fold up inner pocket lining away from the front.
2. Fold top at a 45 degree angle towards the front. Then take the bottom and fold upward to the break at the knee.
3. Fold in half.

How Should Delta Airlines Spend $1 Billion?

Yesterday, it was reported that Delta Airlines has taken out a $1 billion loan in anticipation of of its merger with Northwest Airlines. Delta’s CEO, Ed Bastian, was quoted as saying that the loan is intended to “increase our cash balance as we approach the closing of the merger,” and that the money “was not for any operating need” but rather to ensure “full financial flexibility” to move forward with the Northwest merger.

Bull. Shit. Delta needs a billion dollars because they’re fucking up. They charge too much for nothing and their customer service is going down the drain. There’s a Billi in the bank, so we’ve got a few ideas about how they could put it to good use…

DON’T CHARGE FOR BAGS

People who pack rocks in their bags deserve to get fucked with in the airport, truth. But come on! If we’re coming in under 50 lbs., get off our dick. It’s insulting and a major bummer to get charged at the gate. You know what? Don’t even spend your money on it, just put the charge on the ticket when we book it, and let it go.

GET HOTTER STEWARDESSES

OK, you guys have the Deltalina video. Great start. But where’s the follow up? You tease us with 5 minutes of that and then grandma waits on us while we sit on the tarmac for 3 hours. Do us a favor: go to the international terminal and recruit some of the global ladies. We’ve got to fly to LA for a cover shoot this weekend, so don’t disappoint.

PUT XANAX ON THE CONCESSION CART

You know what doesn’t suck? Being so relaxed that you don’t have a care in the world. Twenty-five dollar checked bags? Ugly, mean flight attendants? Fat person sitting next to me? Oh yes, layyydddy with the cart I’ll have another one of those pilllssszzzz. Can I pay you in frequent flyer miles? Wake me up in Tel Aviv. By the way…you’re the…You know what? I love you.

GET BETTER TV

You’re going up against JetBlue, who invented in flight TV, and Virgin Atlantic, who advertises hookups with hot girls in the seat in front of us via in flight text. You think some secondhand Song video screens are going to keep us sedated? Ha. As far as entertainment, other than sneakers and rap we like two things: girls making out and bad guy gun fights.

Perks and Mini and Friends Tour Italy In New Photo Book

Often, a designer’s inspiration comes from the strangest places'most of which you probably wouldn’t want to visit. But for the design collective known as the Changes, their recent tour of Italy during Milan Design Week was worth a slideshow. Hoping to give fans a look at the trip’s offbeat flavor, they’ve compiled a series of photos in a new book called ITALIENS.

In case you’re wondeirng, the Changes consists of the creative force behind Australian clothing line Perks and Mini plus Fergadelic from Tonite UK, and Japan’s revered Skatething from BBC/IceCream. They all snapped photos of odd sightings for a coffee-table style book that should be shared over PBR’s rather than CafÃ© AÃº Lait. It’s now available for purchase here, but check out a few crazy images from the book after the jump if you aren’t convinced.

Virgin Galactic Prepares To Make Space Its Punk

British entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson has unveiled the official plan to slap the Virgin brand on the cosmos itself with the official launch of Virgin Galactic. Branson’s spaceliners will take six passengers (and two pilots) to sub-orbital space, more than sixty miles above the earth’s surface. For $200K passengers get a whopping five minutes of weightlessness and the possibility of sitting next to celeb space enthusiasts. According to the New York Post designer Phillippe Starck and Stephen Hawking have both signed up for flights slated to begin in 2009. Maybe he’ll give you a break on the ticket if you show up at the New Mexico launching grounds, Spaceport America, with a Virgin-logo trampstamp.

Go South With Burton’s 28 Day Winter

For more than 10 years Burton team riders have shredded the Southern Hemisphere while most America works on their summer tans. 28 Day Winter documents the latest mission with 176 pages of photographs by Dean “Blotto” Gray, Jeff Curtes, and Adam Moran. The shooters followed a squad of Burton riders including Terje Haakonsen, Hannah Teter, Nicolas Muller, and the ubiquitous Shaun White tearing up rocky terrain on the earth’s south side. Blotto, who we caught up with via email, described the evolution of the book, “After completing the month long shoot through Chile, New Zealand and 72 hours on Mt Hood in Oregon, the photography was compiled and we all said, ‘Let's do this book.’ The title tells just what it was, a 28 day winter.” For anyone trying to start a North vs. South rivalry, Blotto had this to say, “The typical story with shooting snowboarding in the Southern Hemisphere was that of 'It's not as good as the terrain in the Northern Hemisphere…only good for catalog shots…not enough snow.' We've never subscribed to this attitude and this book is a testament to that. You're dealing with the best riders in the world, professional photographers, and terrain that will get you just as hurt as anytime in January or March.”

Quality Time

Here at Complex the lines between work and play often become blurry. Even during our 4th of July vacation last week in LA, it was almost impossible to pull us away from our laptops and Blackberries so that we could catch a quick glimpse of hot, exotic World Cup groupies and the Zinedine Zidane head butt heard 'round the world. Instead, our attention was on the sweet eye-candy we found outside of our native NYC in some of the West Coast's finest boutique shops like Proper, Seams, Supreme, Conveyor at Fred Segal, and Turntable Lab. Maybe next time we can fit into our schedule more than one type of “beech,” if you know what we mean.

Fred Segal has two locations, both across the street from each other. But only one houses Conveyor, their dope boutique streetwear line. They also carry Orchard Street, MHI (Maharishi), BBC and Ice Cream.

For us sneakerheads who get wood for Proper’s wide selection of Nike, adidas, and Vans we must say the store’s wood-grain motif is also a nice touch. Pause.

Seams is a cool store in Long Beach next door to Proper. Most of the clientele are skaters so most of the sneaker choices are Nike SB’s core skate shoes like the P-Rod, and Team Edition. Other hot items in the store: Nike SB apparel, Nike White Label, T-shirts from The Hundreds, Shalom x Diamond, and Lrg.

The tiny New York flagship has more room to breathe out in LA. The DJ/producer/sound technician headquarters carries the imports as well as the latest 12″ releases (yes, vinyl still exists), DJ equipment, accessories, T-shirts, hoodies, CD’s, and DVD’s.

Have a seat and taste some of their delicious vinyl.

Seeing a live DJ in a store once wowed us. But we’ve finally seen it all, Supreme LA’s in-door skate bowl – amazing.
