This week, Las Vegas hosted the very first Compass Trade Show, where we got to check out all of the new product from footwear brands like Creative Recreation, Supra, Alife, Gourmet, Vael, and (pictured above) Sneaky Steve.
Sneaky Steve is produced in Sweden, which makes sense, because any American who names his company something like that deserves a punch in the neck. But we can’t hate on the results. The sneakers are currently available at Oak in NYC, and are designed for the high fashion/tight pants/Lupe Fiasco set. See simple canvas, low profile midsoles, and clean silhouettes from their Spring ‘09 collection below.

Yesterday Complex hit up the third annual Capsule NYC tradeshow, to see who’s about to make some noise in the menswear market. Held in the quirkiest of locations (an old neo-gothic synagogue in the LES), it’s appropriate that the show previews only the most high-minded and fashion-forward independent mens lines out there, without delving into some of the candy-assed brands you’ll see at Magic this August.
As per usual, old favorites like Clae, Peg Leg, and Penfield had a strong showing, while fresh blood like Hot Air and Schmoove also repped their set. Although many brands were showing their future goods for the Spring/Summer 2009 seasons, the venue was plentiful of dope products that are available now. Hit the jump to get familiar (if you’re not already) with the brands and their new pieces that stood out from the rest.
