TV Omar & Marlo: After The Wire

When you’re in a show with a crazy cult following like The Wire, its easy to get typecast as the character everyone loves you for. Well, now it seems that two of the HBO series’ stars are testing the waters with guest spots on TV shows that are very different from the Baltimore epic.

In fact, Jamie Hector (who played stoic drug kingpin Marlo Stanfield) and Michael K. Williams (who played the (almost) invincible killer Omar) both unexpectedly showed up on our TV screen Tuesday night. Hector played a soldier on the series finale of CBS’ post-apocolyptic drama Jericho, and Williams played “The Black Guy” on MTV sketch comedy show Human Giant’s popular segment “The Illusionators”. Watch 'em both after the jump!

TV just keeps getting better and better. After the raving success of last week's premiere of the fourth season of HBO's The Wire, the breakout show has been confirmed today for its fifth season. Last Sunday's gripping episode took us through the mean streets of West Baltimore once again, this time through the eyes of a few young dope boys. Be sure to check out the new episode on Sunday at 10PM. And in the meantime, click here for the feature on The Wire's head hustler in charge, Jamie Hector, as seen in our August/September issue on newsstands now.
