Yesterday, a little video game called Brütal Legend hit stores (click here to read Complex’s full review), the latest creation from Tim Schafer, the man behind fan favorites like Psychonauts and Grim Fandango. The new game is an homage to classic heavy metal culture, centering around a roadie on a mission to save the universe.
And of course, given his own proclivity for all things metal, Jack Black signed on to star as the game’s protagonist. To celebrate his transition into the gaming world, Complex interviewed the actor in our October/November issue for our regular feature called “The Shotcaller.” We just posted the story online, so click the link below to hear Black talking about getting down with Brütal Legend, his first metal concert and the real-life inspiration behind his roadie hero…

Complex’s August/September Style & Design Issue is burning up newsstands this week with a bunch of pretty ladies and awesomeness in the world of—yup, you guessed it—Style and Design. Brian Donnelly, A.K.A. KAWS, collaborated with N.E.R.D. on Complex’s 2008 Style & Design cover story, so this time around we decided to profile the artist in our regular interview series “The Shotcaller.” Donnelly has had a breakout year, with gallery shows in NY and L.A., artwork on Kanye’s 808’s & Heartbreak, and a recent collabo with Japanese illustrator Hajime Sorayama.
We just put the uncut interview with KAWS online, where he speaks on Sorayama, Clipse, working with Supreme and BAPE, and new projects on tap. We also put together an exclusive bonus video that features a smoking hot model making out with the KAWS x Hajime Sorayama x Medicom/Original Fake NO FUTURE COMPANION figure…

Last week, Complex made a list of the best albums of 2009 (so far), and the easiest part was picking the #1 album: The-Dream’s Love vs. Money. We’re co-signing this pop genius so heavy that we even decided to feature him in our regular interview feature “The Shotcaller” in Complex’s June/July issue.
Check out the full interview now, where Dream talks about everything from getting inside the mind of the women he writes songs for, to slimming down for his new “pop star” image…

Actor/writer/comedian Thomas Lennon is a busy man these days. Best known as short-shorts wearing Lieutenant Jim Dangle on Reno 911!, Lennon has a trio of movies out this spring: he played Paul Rudd’s man-date in I Love You, Man, he co-wrote the upcoming sequel to the family blockbuster Night At The Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian, and this weekend, he stars in 17 Again as Zac Efron’s grown-up BFF Ned.
In Complex’s latest issue (April/May 2009), we feature Thomas in our regular “Shotcaller” profile. In the hilarious interview, he talks about everything from getting testicle insurance and the storied history of the glory hole to his personal run-ins with the law and what he would do if he was 17 again.
