After steadily killing it in the surf arena, Quiksilver is now putting some focus on making a splash in the footwear game. Cleaned-up high tops like this Capri (no relation to those chick-pants) make for a solid jumpoff silo for the company, and the best part is they’re not on the garmento-knockoff-another-brand tip. Oh, and since they clock in at $65,they won’t hurt your pockets too much. Check for them to hit QS stores early next month.

WOR co-founder Chad Marshall rocks his own shit.
We already gave SoCal surf brand Warriors of Radness some Brand Profile love, and now we have a fresh WOR piece to recommend. Today’s Buy It Now is the Teamster Crew from the line founded by brothers Trace and Chad Marshall and Rick Klotz of FreshJive. It’s a fleece sweatshirt (available in both the pictured teal and black) that exemplifies the brand’s Cali kickback cool—something to throw on for the coming months when warm days turn to nipply nights. For Buy It Now info and detail pics of both colorways, see below….

It's hard to believe a bunch of grown-ass men would get so excited that they'd act like little girls at the sight of a pro surfer, but Kelly Slater apparently has some kind of hold over his fans. Last night at Chelsea Piers on Manhattan's uber-west side, Monsieur Slater showed up and showed off his new Quiksilver-bankrolled surf flick, Letting Go , much to the delight of the guys'and girls'in attendance. Spoiler alert: it's got a happy ending. In it, Slater wins his 7th world title, taking the 2006 ASP Championship.

After the screening, Slater auctioned off a signed board. Actually, he auctioned three. The first two went to suits, and Slater wanted a real surfer to land one, so he kept trying. Fortunately, all the money goes to his environmentally progressive Surfrider Foundation, so the extra cash will help a good cause. And those diehard fans, who booed the suits when they won the auctions? They went home happy too. Deliriously happy. Almost too happy. But whatever.
