The House of Mouse just purchased the iconic comic company. Complex imagines some mash-up movie posters.

Sure, it’s old news by now, but Disney’s announced purchase of Marvel and all its characters has revved up the Internet’s creativity machine, with comic-book fans and Disney-loving pedophiles alike firing up the imaging software to imagine their favorite mashups. The thing is, no one’s as good at it as we are (suck it, Conan!) Besides, no one cares about Disney characters, and the House That Walt Built knows that it’s gonna need a lot more than Mickneto to get its movie mojo back. That’s why we went ahead and planned out Disney’s next few tentpole releases (ayo!), starring the only sure-fire moneymakers in Hollywood…

BOOTY AND BEAST
STARRING: Storm and Beast
PLOT: The Foxy Brown of Xavier’s crew finds love with a brilliant and gentle man who happens to be covered in blue hair. Some other shit happens too, but we’re too busy waiting to see if Storm whips up a hurricane that blows her clothes off.

Comic legend Stan Lee is bringing a homosexual superhero series to Showtime. Check out the characters who paved the way.

Straight up, a gay superhero is coming to your TV. Got a problem with it? Suck it.

Pause. Take a second to acknowledge how far we’ve come as a society that comic legend Stan Lee is executive producing a series about a gay superhero for Showtime. The project is based on openly gay writer/director Perry Moore’s novel Hero, which tells the story of Thom Creed, a teenager and the world’s first homosexual superhero, who wrestles with his secret identities when he’s not pinning villains.

Creed isn’t actually the first gay do-gooder. (Did you really think the super-chiseled men in tights running with the super-chiseled man-women were straight?) Whether their homosexuality was declared or merely implied, gay heroes have long existed in comics and have helped pave the way for this new series. Check out some of the gay do-gooders to grace the pages of Marvel and DC comics over the years. (Forget the indies'like indie rock and indie rap, it goes without saying that they’ve always been gay)…

Stan Lee takes his love of writing captions to the political arena with new book.

Superhero <strike>sellout</strike> creator Stan Lee, who’s ruined countless comic icons by taking them onto the silver screen has a whole new cast of characters to slay, this time setting his aim on politicians like Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John McCain, President Bush, among other newfound political celebrities like George Clooney,
Chuck Norris, and Stephen Colbert in his new book “Election Daze.” Lee, who’s most often associated with superhuman idols like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men, took his famed comic book format and transposed it to political humor. His new book features funny dialogue balloons accompanied by eye-catching photos from Capitol Hill shutterbug, Lauren Victoria Burke. According to Lee, the political arena sometimes offers more unbelievable material than his best fiction, “It's a great change of pace from writing fantasy tales, although sometimes politics seems more like fantasy than my own stories.” The caption-filled easy read will be available at the end of March and is available for pre-order online now. $9.95, www.atlasbooks.com
