If Ink Were Blood (Man and Woman) by Dustin Yellin. Resin, acrylic, and ink, 182cm x 60cm x 34cm.

Nike’s collaborative art project with Livestrong, entitled STAGES, opened in New York on Friday night at the Deitch Projects space on 480 Broome street. The collection is a series of art that features big timers like Tom Sachs, Ed Ruscha, Shepard Fairey, Kaws, and Jose Parla. If you live or are in NY for the next month, go check it out, the work is impressive and a great way to check out some contemporary heroes all in the same spot.

For the New York edition of STAGES, a few new pieces were brought into the mix, including a piece by Brooklyn artist Dustin Yellin, a two part sculpture titled, “If Ink Were Blood (Man and Woman)”. Before this, we didn’t really know Dustin’s work, so we took the opportunity to catch up with him. Hit the jump to check out an interview with Yellin where he explains his process, then peep some of his more recent work.

If you buy any of the new BAPE x Ghostbusters crap, please @ComplexMag on Twitter so we can be sure to place your contact in our idiot folder. [High Snobiety]

Cool design concept behind a breakable plate (?), but this guy needs to get himself a real job. [Yanko Design]

C-3PO and R2-D2 Kubricks on the way. Awesome. [Hypebeast]

In cool guy-meets-repressed-childhood news, LEGO is teaming up with Wood Wood. We hope this fulfills its kick ass potential. [Freshness]

Wake N' Watch Wake N’ Watch: Lance Armstrong x Nike STAGES All-Star Art Show

After retiring from cycling in 2005, Lance Armstrong decided to come back for this year’s Tour De France strictly to raise awareness for his LIVESTRONG Global Cancer Campaign. You’ve seen the bevvy of sneaker releases from Nike, and now the duo has teamed up again for the all-star STAGES art benefit at the Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin in Paris. Some familiar faces who made pieces especially for the show include KAWS, Shepard Fairey, Yoshitomo Nara, Dzine, José Parlá, Ed Ruscha, Geoff McFetridge, Tom Sachs and Cai Guo-Qiang (there are 20 in all).

The STAGES show opens to the public today, and Nike dropped a few videos to give you an inside look. The video above is an introduction hosted by Lance and Nike President Mark Parker, and the video embedded below is focused on Shepard Fairey’s piece inspired by 30-year-old cancer survivor Jessica Ikenberry…
