Left To Right: Snoop Dogg, Hot Chip, Obie Trice, Atlas Sound, Murs

Each day Complex scours the music blogs for 5 fresh songs that you should listen to in our 5 O’Clock Shuffle post. Instead of going crazy trying to keep up with your RSS feeds everyday, just head over to Complex.com to stay up-to-date on important leaks and releases.

For some it’s Veteran’s Day. For some it’s just another Wednesday. But there’s another Shuffle playlist to look forward to for everyone. New music from Snoop and Nipsey, indie favs Hot Chip, former Shady affiliate Obie Trice, and more. The MP3 streams and download links are on deck as always. Start listening after the jump…

SONG: “Upside Down”
• Probably the hottest leak off Malice In Wonderland so far. Music video is on the way too. Check out the behind-the-scenes for an idea of how the visuals to this old-school/new-school West Coast union will turn out.

SONG: “Take It In”
• The electro-pop favorites are gearing up for the release of their next album, One Life Stand. This record isn’t quite as infectious as some of their previous work, but it’s not bad either. Fans of the sound will enjoy it regardless.

SONG: “Got Hungry”
• Mr. Real Name No Gimmicks is no longer a member of the Shady Records fam, but the rhymes are still on point. Look for this on Special Reserve–out December 15.

SONG: “The Screens”
ARTIST: Atlas Sound
• A few albums ago, Bradford Cox’s music was so weird that it was sometimes impossible to decipher the lyrics. He’s toned the left-field approach with his latest track. Still not for everyone, but it’s got a much better vibe that a wider variety of listeners will appreciate.

• Underground staples Slug and Murs are continuing work as their collaborative side project Felt. The LP, Felt 3: A Tribute to Rosie Perez, drops next week. Give this a listen and decide if you’re copping or not.

Every new song has its purpose. Sometimes newcomers are trying to get in the game. Sometimes superstars are trying to get back in the game. Both types of efforts are intriguing for their own reasons and there’s never really any guarantee of who’s going to have the hotter song. Today’s Shuffle kind of epitomizes these statements. It features music from iPod staples and artists you probably never heard of until today, but the playing field is more even than you’d expect. MP3 streams and download links wait after the jump. Keep reading to get started…

• Here’s the first single from Malice In Wonderland. Sounds like a formulaic radio hit. Not sure if it’ll pop like some of his past megahits, but it’s always a possibility with Snoop.

• You know those poor girls that you smash and never call again? This is how they feel. Unfortunately, we don’t feel so bad knowing that our asshole-ish ways can inspire a chick to make such a dope song.

• Jenny from the block wants to be called Lola now. Cool. Too bad the name change and The Neptunes couldn’t save her from coming back with more average music. Oh well, she’s still hot.

• This is music for the ADHD generation. Explosive bass, hyperactive synths, and an utter lack of direction. Maybe it’s because we forgot to take our Ritalin today, but it sounds awesome.

Two years later he has a Complex cover and a successful debut album under his belt.
Clipse without Pharrell? Snoop without Dre? Take a look back at what happens when good MCs lose their sound.

Clipse can still rap their asses off, but there is something noticeably missing from the new Clipse Presents: The Re-Up Gang album, which dropped today. That something? Good beats. You see, we fucking love Pusha T and Malice over Neptunes production. But over Sleepwalkers (very apt name, btw) tracks? Eh…not so much.

Which got us thinking: this isn’t the first time a rap act has carved out a dope sound with a certain producer and then parted ways to dismal effect. After the jump, check out our compilation of those rappers and their respective before/after track records.

RAPPER: JERU THE DAMAJA
O.G. PRODUCER: DJ PREMIER

BEFORE: “Come Clean”

AFTER: “99.9 Pa Cent” (Produced by Jeru)

Verdict: Pras said it best in his Damaja dis: “Without Premier, you couldn't sell it.” When Pras is dissing you, you know you got a problem.

RAPPER: COMMON
O.G. PRODUCER: NO I.D.

BEFORE: “Resurrection”

AFTER: “The Light” (prod. by Jay Dee)

Verdict: We have much love for Dilla (R.I.P.) and the track has its merits, but Com's post-No-I.D. sound is altogether soft like Twinkie filling. With a sleeveless turtleneck on top.

RAPPER: RAEKWON
O.G. PRODUCER: RZA

BEFORE: “Criminology” (feat. Ghostface Killah)

AFTER: “Live From New York” (prod. by Infinite Arkatechz)

Verdict: The sad thing is, “Live From New York” is leagues better than most rap out today. But it's severely lacking when compared with any track off Cuban Linx.

RAPPER: SNOOP DOGG
O.G. PRODUCER: DR. DRE

BEFORE: “Gin and Juice”

AFTER: “Snoop's Upside Ya Head” (prod. by DJ Pooh)

Verdict: His longevity has proven that Snoop can rhyme (or sing) well over virtually anything, but his entire Dre-free sophomore album was a major letdown. Probably his worst album to date.

RAPPER: T.I.
O.G. PRODUCER: DJ TOOMP

BEFORE: “U Don't Know Me”

AFTER: “You Know What It Is” (Produced by Wyclef & Jerry Wonder)

Verdict: T.I. vs. T.I.P. is the only T.I. album without a DJ Toomp joint. It's no coincidence that it's also the worst T.I. album. The lesson? As always, never fuck with Wyclef. Thankfully, Toomp has a joint on Paper Trail.

RAPPERS: CLIPSE
O.G. PRODUCER: THE NEPTUNES

BEFORE: “Grindin'”

AFTER: “My Life's the Shit” (Produced by Illfonics)

Verdict: We fucks with a couple tracks on the new LP, but overall we can't get past the ABC production. Yo P'your boys need help.

Folks like Snoop and Pete Rock will be giving their take on the Man in Black for this upcoming compilation. Watch the making of video now.

As if the ridiculous number of posthumous Biggie and Tupac albums wasn’t enough, country music icon Johnny Cash is now next in line for a makeover.

An upcoming compilation called Johnny Cash Remixed will feature production by Snoop Dogg’s supergroup QDT (including Teddy Riley and DJ Quik), along with Pete Rock and rockers like Alabama 3, the British band behind The Sopranos theme. Snoop has already paid tribute to Cash on his current single “My Medicine,” so it’s only right that he will be covering his biggest hit, “Walk The Line,” for the compilation, which is due out on October 14. Watch a video that shows how the album was made below.

Snoop Dogg, DJ Quik, Kurupt, Terrace Martin & Felli Fel all show up on the remix to this Compton newcomer's Cali club banger.

left to right: Problem, DJ Quik & Terrace Martin

You might not be familiar with Compton rapper Problem yet, but you’ve probably heard his words. This newcomer has been ghostwriting lyrics for a minute, including work for Snoop Dogg like “Neva Hav 2 Worry” from his latest album Ego Trippin’. But after his single “I’m Toe Up” (original dirty version: “I’m Fucked Up”) started banging on West Coast radio and in the Cali clubs, he recently signed a solo deal with Universal Republic.

To celebrate the signing, some of his big name homies hopped on the remix to his hit single'DJ Quik, Kurupt, Terrace Martin, Snoop Dogg and DJ Felli Fel all pop up on the track. Check out Problem’s myspace and listen to remix after the jump.

When it comes to gadgets, Snoop Doog has a lot of them.

We heard that Snoop loved video games, but we had no idea what a “gadget hound” he was. The fact that he has three cellphones isn’t all that shocking, it’s that they’re all different that’s puzzling. For us, the Pearl was hard enough to master, but Snoop rocks an iPhone, Blackberry, and Sidekick. Check out the interview and see what other gizmos the Doggfather covets.
