Left To Right: Shakira, Wiz Khalifa, LCD Soundsystem, Wild Nothing, Sean Kingston

Each day Complex scours the music blogs for 5 fresh songs that you should listen to in our 5 O’Clock Shuffle post. Instead of going crazy trying to keep up with your RSS feeds everyday, just head over to Complex.com to stay up-to-date on important leaks and releases.

The blogs were kind of quiet again today, but we still managed to scrape together five download-worthy songs for the playlist. Shakira linked up with Wayne and Timbo, Wiz Khalifa finally dropped a real single, and some unknown kid from Virginia dropped one of the hottest indie rocks tracks of the year. That’s not all of it either. Keep reading for the MP3 streams and download links…

SONG: “Give It Up To Me”
• Ryan Seacrest premiered this track on his radio show this morning. Keeping it 100, this one is a little disappointing for all the big names featured on it.

SONG: “This Plane”
• Wiz has been killing mixtapes for a minute now, but he finally has an album on the way. This is the first single from Deal Or No Deal and it sounds pretty good. Dope album title too.

SONG: “Bye Bye Bayou”
ARTIST: LCD Soundsystem
DOWNLOAD: [LINK]
• James Murphy made one of the best albums of the decade back in 2007 and the next project drops in March. This won’t be on the new album but it’s worth a listen if you’re a fan LCD’s previous work.

SONG: “Confirmation”
ARTIST: Wild Nothing
DOWNLOAD: [LINK]
• These one-man-bands are really starting to take over the indie rock scene, aren’t they? It’s hard to complain when the music is good though. Most of these “bands” will pass by, but this Wild Nothing guy has a chance of sticking around if he keeps making songs like this.

• It’s no secret that we make fun of the kid sometimes, but yeah, Sean Kingston makes hits. We don’t necessarily think this falls into that category, but your girl who only listens to Z100 might. Send it over to her.

In honor of Sean Kingston's comically bad new LP artwork, we've compiled the ugliest covers of the year.

Sean Kingston’s new album, entitled Tomorrow, comes out today. Now, we haven’t heard the album—nor will we ever (at least voluntarily)—but we’re gonna go ahead and judge an LP by its cover: terrible. It looks like he stole the clay character thing from Soulja Boy’s “YAHHH!” video, slapped his “SK” chain on it, and threw on some Rastafakin’ gear on it. No, trick, noooooo!

Anyway, after seeing this poor excuse for artwork, we decided to go back though the year’s music releases and compile a list of the 10 Worst Album Covers of 2009 (so far)…

The young hitmaker came through the office to provide his commentary on some unexpected videos.

Wat A Gwaan! Love him or hate him, you can’t deny that Sean Kingston knows how to crank out radio-friendly bangers. His latest single, “Fire Burning,” is steadily climbing up the music charts; more importantly, it’s a mainstay in those type of clubs where the white girls get silly. As the song stays in rotation, Kingston is prepping his forthcoming album, Tomorrow, which drops on September 22 and reportedly features a Lil Wayne guest appearance. While the hit-maker was in town recently, he stopped by the Complex office to give us some commentary on some videos relating to Spencer Pratt, groupie video chicks, and his now-infamous “Blackberry Bold” WSHH video. Check what SK had to say in this latest installment of YouTubin’ With The Stars…

I know for a fact that he’s not gay ’cause he has a girlfriend. You ever been to a preview of his show before? They grind on the floor with their pants off like that all the time; nobody ever says nothing about that. On their last single on Late Night Special, they grinded with the same panties he had on. No homo. They grind on the floor and don’t nobody never talk about it but he does it on World Star and people wanna talk. That’s what he does [Laughs]. I mean, it’s not my direction but to each his own. I know he’s not gay though, I’ll tell you that. I don’t know about the Will.I.Am and Perez Hilton incident. Her story is right but it’s the other way around. On the real though, I don’t wanna talk about that. I had a crazy stalker though. I had a girl that drove behind my tour bus on the Chris Brown tour. She was just crazy, just trying to get my autograph. Then I come back here to New York, this is about two years ago after going on 106 & Park to drop “Take You There” and I come back and she’s standing in front of my hotel. I don’t know how she knew where I was staying at. It tripped me up. I really don’t mess with groupies; I’m really focused. I guess [Chyna] is a groupie. Call her a groupie. [Laughs].

Whether he's getting robbed by Fed-Ex or throwing Sweet 16 parties, this faux-reggae singer gets on our nerves. Check out his lamest moves.

We’re not sure who said it first, but our December cover artist Jim Jones said it best: “Respect my mind, or respect my grind.” And we agree. Even if you don’t like a certain artist or their music, if they’re doing their thing'somehow selling records and getting that guest spot money, you should at least respect the fact that they’re out there grinding. It’s only right… right? We suppose, but some artists make it hard to root for them. Like, say, Sean Kingston.

For the first installment of the our Ball Boy of the Week column, we chose the Jamaican rap/”reggae” artist responsible for one of the most annoyingly infectious hits of late, “Beautiful Girls.” Now, we had no problem with dude, we were happy he was getting his shine on, and even kinda liked that song he did with Juelz. But all that success must have went to dude’s head, ’cause lately he’s been acting a damn fool. Don’t believe us? Read on to see 5 reasons why Sean Kingston is our Ball Boy of the Week…

5. HE WAS ON MTV’S SUPER SWEET <strike>16</strike> 18
All press is good press, but damn. The public hated all those spoiled, stuck up, ungrateful chicks so much that MTV made a show called “Exiled” where some of the former Sweet 16 girls go around the world to basically learn how the other half lives. Why the hell would you choose to associate yourself with them? Maybe Seamn should be exiled, somewhere far far away from here.
——————————————————————————

4. HE REMADE HIS DEBUT SINGLE INTO “BOLLYWOOD GIRLS”

“Beautiful Girls” was suspect enough when it was first released. We thought we’d never hear it again after he moved on to his second and third singles, but no, Sean went for that international gwap by remixing that shit into “Bollywood Girl.” We understand you wanna be worldwide and all, Sean, but you could have at least made a new song with, say, an actual Indian person.
——————————————————————————

3. HE REALLY THINKS HE’S A CEO

We get it'he went platinum, so now, according to the rap handbook, he gets his own labels with his own artists and all that. Great. But just because you pull a dude off Myspace into the studio with you, and your brother answers your cell phone and answers your emails, that doesn’t make you a CEO. Holler back when I.Y.A.Z., the first artist from T.I.M.E. (Time Is Money Entertainment), moves some units. Remember, even Mike Jones has a label.
——————————————————————————

2. HE BUYS RETARDED JEWELRY

At a time when the economy is in the shitter, rappers are getting robbed for their jewels like it was the '80s. We found it odd that Sean would by so much jewelry (in addition to the crib and super cars)'hopefully li’l big homie put some money in the bank in case that next album flops. Or in case he gets Yung Berg’d. Wait…didn’t that already happen? If you ask Sean, he didn’t get robbed for his crayon box chain'he sent it through Fed Ex and just forgot to insure it. Riiiight…
——————————————————————————

1. HIS VIDEO BLOG IS HORRIBLE

For the most part, video blogs are hit and miss for rappers. They’re supposed to show us another side of the rapper that we don’t usually see through music or in the videos. When they’re good, like Soulja Boy’s, we tend to ease up on the hate. But when they’re bad, like Sean Kingston’s, it just reminds us of why we don’t fuck with the artist in the first place. Take for instance the Vlog posted above. This dude really said “they don’t have internet in China”! And then he said that “no one in the world has a Blackberry Bold,” in the worst rendition of “Swagger Like Us” EVER. Poor kid. Someone needs to take his video camera away.

More than ever, terrible rappers are making terrible video blogs. But who's the biggest offender? Vote here.

Back in the dayâ„¢, if a rapper didn’t have an album (or at least a song on the radio), the only shine he might expect would be a few sentences in the back of The Source. But nowadays, every MC Tom, Dick and Harry with a MacBook'no matter how irrelevant or untalented'can make a name with a video blog. Quite simply, rapper video blogging is outta control.

Be clear: We are not talking about video blogs from dudes like Diddy, Weezy, and Soulja Boy'though they are no less asinine, you’re allowed a little slack when you’ve proven you have actual fans. For this poll, we’re aiming directly at the lames who put out more web videos than actual music, the ones that clog up worldstarhiphop.com with their mindless fuckery. So who’s the worst video blogger of the bunch?
