Before James Cameron directed Titanic—a.k.a. the single biggest movie of all time—he churned out some of our all-time favorite sci-fi/action flicks, like the first two Terminator movies, Aliens, The Abyss, True Lies, etc. And now, after taking a 12 year break from writing and directing, he’s back with his new sci-fi epic Avatar, which features Sam Worthington from Terminator: Salvation, Zoe Saldana and the Blue Man Group. The man of steel is back. No, not that pantyhose-clad pussy Superman'we’re talking about the Terminator. In the latest installment of the franchise (which is being directed by McG), Christian Bale stars as John Connor, the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators (various early versions you’ve never seen).
As Skynet prepares to push humans to extinction in 2018, Connor and the mysterious new character Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington) trek to the heart of the operation and uncover the horrible secret behind the annihilation. Hopefully Arnold Schwarzenegger makes a cameo as a fat old Terminator that was designed to go unnoticed in Middle America. The movie hits theaters on May 22, 2009, so get an early peek at the debut Terminator Salvation trailer below.
