With Adventureland opening this weekend, we’re feeling nostalgic for those warm weather trips to the amusement park. It doesn’t matter how old you are, they’re always a sure shot for a good time. That is, if you enjoy scaring yourself half to death on roller coasters, mid-air swings and other rides that seem to defy physics. And no matter how crazy the ride is, most of us just hop on and cross our fingers, hoping that nothing goes wrong.

According to the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), the chance of an injury occurring in a park is 1 in 9 million. Not bad. Style Stab-Proof Is The New Bullet-Proof

In response to a series of violent crimes against schoolchildren and store clerks, a Japanese uniform manufacturer named Nihon Uni has created a new shirt that provides some knife slash resistance. The shirt uses a polyethylene fiber that’s three times thicker than regular cotton, and works in a similar way to body armor. Despite its rugged appeal, you can still throw it in the washing machine. The line drops in June, with the short-sleeve version going for $190 and the long-sleeve going for $220.

Girls Delta’s Fly Safety Chick

There will be no smoking on any Delta flights.

An airline’s redundant safety presentation is usually a good time to finish your chapter, fall asleep or send a last minute email before the flight takes off. But cot damn, we might actually be paying attention the next time we fly Delta. For their new safety video, they recruited a thick-lipped, high cheek-boneded stewardess with a mischievous glimmer in her eye to school the passengers. The best part? She’s an actual Delta employee, named Katherine Lee. Can we have another blanket?
