By the end of last year, it seemed like pretty much every music blog and publication had already decided that The Virgins were going to be the next big thing. But that’s the type of hype you’ve got to expect when you’ve got friends in NYC’s downtown fashion and art scene'the band’s frontman Donald Cumming was the subject of some of artist Ryan McGinley’s most famous photographs. Before they even had an album or a video out, their songs were being featured on Gossip Girl and Entourage.
Well, a week after their self-titled Atlantic debut hit stores, they’ve finally released their first video for “Private Affair.” The clip is an homage to NYC’s classic public access shows, complete with trashy strippers and hosting duties by downtown art world legend Jack Walls. Watch it below.
