Style Buy It Now: Make Your Own Rugby iPhone App

buyitnow_final
We’ve always been content with the sick colorways and designs Ralph Lauren has bestowed upon us through the years. Now, Uncle Ralph has created a new way for customers to become more involved in the creative process. We’ve reported on Rugby’s customizing options before, but now, through an all-new Rugby iPhone app, consumers can construct their very own rugby shirt while on the go. You can also place orders from the application with the “Order Your Creation” option.

As if all this wasn’t genius enough, the application allows users to upload a photo of themselves to model their new creation. (If modeling isn’t your steez, you can still customize the “stock” model images by choosing skin color, hair style, and background.) Once created, your rugby can be shared via Facebook and on the Rugby gallery, which can be seen in select stores and online all around the world. From there, less creative individuals can browse and purchase others’ hot designs.

Todays Buy It Now is the Make Your Own Rugby iPhone application from Polo Ralph Lauren. Consider it just another great way to become completely wrapped up in iPhone madness. For Buy It Now info and more pics of the app, see below…

What are you saving up for the summer? Update my fall wardrobe and perhaps some sleek new wingtips.

What summer trends have you seen? Cuffed jeans with boat shoes, destroyed jeans, oversized oxfords for women and heavy heavy jewelry.

What is your dream vacation? A trip to some super small, non-touristy European city where I don’t speak the language and don’t know anyone. Somewhere completely authentic and not Americanized at all.

Style The 12 Best Back To School Polo Shirts

lead15
T-shirts are a summer staple, but as we head into September and the summer begins to conclude, you should start to ease up on the graphic t’s (besides these, of course) and throw on something a little more sophisticated. We’re not saying it’s time to whip back out your button downs and sweaters—nah, the leaves don’t even start falling in September.

What you should do, however, is make sure your polo game is proper. Especially if you’re going back to school. There’s nothing like a sick polo shirt to give you a more scholarly look. From the classic Ralph Lauren polos to the casual J. Crew jerseys we picked out the 12 must own polo shirts of the season. Take your pick below…

Style Retail Spotlight: The Webster Miami

websterlead1
STORE: The Webster

CITY: Miami Beach, Florida

SINCE: 2007

FOUNDED BY: Milan Vukmirovic cofounder of Colette, Laure Hériard Dubreuil, and Frederic Dechnik.

PRICES: $$$$ (out of 5)

WHY WE COSIGN: If you’re vacationing in South Beach, don’t sleep on this super-luxe, three-level boutique. With a classic ’40s Caribbean art deco vibe, The Webster Miami houses brands like Billionaire Boys Club, Lanvin, Maison Martin Margiela, Marc Jacobs, and a bunch of other brands you’ll want to spend your rent money on. The store’s inventory is so official because founders Dubreuil, Dechnik, and Vukmirovic actually hit the bricks and hand-pick pieces from runway shows throughout the year. If you got some dough to blow after a couple nights on South Beach, you would be doing yourself a favor by swinging through. “The Webster is part of an elite group of multi-brand stores that have influenced the fashion industry and it has the ability to put Miami on the map as a destination comparable to New York, Paris, and Milan,” explains Vukmirovic. We agree. Besides, don’t you want to say you were down with the shop before it blows up?

BRANDS CARRIED: Acne, Adam Kimmel, Balenciaga, Balmain, Billionaire Boys Club, Givenchy, Lanvin, Maison Martin Margiela, Marc Jacobs, Neil Barrett, Pierre Hardy, Prada, Ralph Lauren, Robinson les Bains, Sundeck, Tom Ford, and Trussardi 1911.

See our interview with Laure Hériard Dubreuil and Frederic Dechnik and pics of the store, address, and web site, see below…

Wake N' Watch Wake N’ Watch: Dukwon f/ Killer Mike “Polo”

With all due respect to Thirstin Howl III, it’s shocking that no rapper has recorded a truly definitive ode to Ralph Lauren’s enduring greatness. Newcomer Dukwon—originally from small town Southern Pines, North Carolina and now repping Jacksonville, Florida—has a pretty good shot at the title with his new joint “Polo” (Ho!), featuring one of Complex’s favorite MCs, Killer Mike. This one’s got all the ingredients of a late-summer banger: a pool party, chicks with croquet mallets and an overdose of some clean-as-hell ’Lo. Sadly, they didn’t get Ralph’s cannonball on tape.

Tune in to Complex.com every morning at 8 AM for your daily “Wake N’ Watch” video.

Style Trendhumper: Navajo Patterns

navajo-lead
“Nava-who?” Fellas, careful how you say this one around the ladies. Navajo patterns made some major noise at Fashion Week this year and the colorful, intricate designs definitely caught our eye. Designers like Ralph Lauren, Gaultier and Vivienne Westwood went back to America’s real roots to give us a go-to look for spring. Shit, we’ve stolen everything else from the Native Americans, why not their style? OK, we kid. Consider the look an homage to the tribes of yesteryear, big-chief style. Vote ‘HUMP’ or ‘DUMP’ below…

Some clothes you buy for function, some you buy for style…and then sometimes you just dumb the eff out and cop something crazy. File today’s Buy It Now in that last category'unless, of course, you have some pressing need for a bright yellow zippered nylon vest. You never know.

dressydetails_nye_lead.jpg
If you’re hitting up a New Year’s Eve celebration tomorrow night, you don't need to rock a tux to look like a billion bucks. Shoot, you don’t even need a suit'adding a few dressy details to a basic outfit will help you stand out with class.

First things first: start with a crisp white dress shirt and dark indigo denim. For the style savvy man, this is a sneaker-optional look, but most regular guys should probably break out the hard-bottom shoes. Once you have this basic outfit in place, add on the following accessories for the full effect….
