Eats Style & Design 2009: Our Favorite Old School Ice Creams

Seems like every year there’s a new magical dessert clamoring for attention—and more often than not, it’s some horrible retro-kitsch thing. To wit: rice pudding; creampuffs; inexplicably tangy frozen yogurt. To which we say: meh.

Dessert doesn’t need to be gussied up, it just needs to be cold and sweet and make you feel like a kid. So take it back to the ice-cream man. No Big Worm, no Master P, just some good humor.
