Comics The 25 Most Complex MAD Covers Of All Time

mad

Someone told us that today marked the 54th anniversary of Alfred E. Neuman’s first appearance on the cover of MAD Magazine. Hard to say, since it’s the July 1955 issue, but we’ll buy it; more importantly, though, the granddaddy of all humor magazines (except maybe Prevention, but that’s only because people walking proudly towards death is hilarious) just dropped its 500th issue. So recognize: Without MAD, there would be no Saturday Night Live, no Simpsons, no Apatow crew–hell, no Complex blog. Think we’re wrong? MAD’s had a number of Complex-friendly covers over the years…and yes, we’ve rounded them up as a way to say “Happy birthday, you usual gang of idiots.” Blecccch!

Music 5 Reasons To Stop The New Kids On The Block Reunion

nkotb_main.jpg
Hating New Kids On The Block is only natural. If you’re like us, you probably never got over that time in third grade when your girlfriend admitted she would dump you for Danny Wood if the opportunity came up. We’re not bitter though'there’s no shame in admitting that NKOTB made some halfway decent imitations of New Edition songs (”Please Don’t Go Girl” holds up the best). But damn, with all the hoopla surrounding their official reunion announcement on this morning’s Today show, it seems like people have forgotten the reasons they broke up in the first place. You know, they were kind of a shitty group.

Hoping to put things in perspective, we’ve assembled a highlight reel of some of Jordan, Donnie, Jonathan, Danny and lil’ Joey’s most cringe-worthy moments on camera. Hang tough after the jump.
